Baby #3 // 37 Weeks

May 13, 2017

Holy moly, rounding home base here! Scary yet exciting!! At this point, everyone’s question is “Are you ready to be done?!” Well, YES, so ready to be done being pregnant and large and uncomfortable, but SO NOT READY FOR A BABY YET! The birth aftermath, taking care of a baby, sleepless nights, sore boobs and ripped apart nipples, fewf, not ready for all that, but I am ready for some sweet snuggles for a baby and to meet her! It all just somehow comes together in the end and you have a new human being, pretty awesome.

Here’s a recap of my pregnancy so far!

20 weeks // 24 weeks // 28 weeks // 33 weeks // 37 weeks

Due June 4th, three weeks away! Ivy was two days late and 7 lbs 9 oz, and Leo was ten days early and 8 lbs 3 oz, so who knows when this little baby girl will be coming! Any day! But I could reaalllly use a couple weeks little girl if you wouldn’t mind cooperating, haha :)

How far along: 37 weeks tomorrow – due June 4
Gender: Baby Girl
Weight gain: 24 lbs – gained 29 total with Leo and 27 with Ivy

Names: Oh gosh. Seriously getting down to the wire. Still don’t have ONE picked out. John likes one, I kinda like another, blah, I don’t know! Stalking Nameberry all day. And the list of the top 1000 names for 2016 just came out. Fun to browse! Waiting for one to just speak to me!

Last Doctor’s check-up: Last Tuesday. Baby’s heart rate was 144 and I was SOOOO scared at this check-up because at my 34 week appointment she wasn’t head down yet! I never had that problem with Ivy or Leo. So after two weeks of stressing and doing all these weird maneuvers to get her to flip, I was so nervous! THANKFULLY she was head down!! AND engaged in the pelvis so I hope she stays now! WHEW! That was nerve-wracking. AND already dilated to a 1 and 50% effaced. I got up to 4 cm dilated and 100% effaced before labor ensued with both Ivy and Leo, so hoping for the same.

Maternity clothes: So large for everything! Basically living in dresses, jeans have been too uncomfortable (but if you’re looking for jeans – love these white distressed ones) now that she’s lower, so dresses and leggings are my go-to. I recently bought this dress (non-maternity) (similar maternity one here) to wear out of the hospital because of how comfy it looked, and let me tell you, it is SOOO comfy! I even fit in it with the belly since it’s a loose fit dress. I also absolutely LOVE this beautiful pastel dress! So pretty. This dress looks super comfy also, and the off-the shoulder is gorg. This ruffle one-sleeve blouse is dreamy, love the floral pattern, so girly and romantic. Here’s another striped pattern one with lovely embroidery! Gah! So many great summer dresses out there!

Here are some more of favorites out there!

Sleep: Oh gosh. With the whole not head down thing really throwing me a curveball, I have been so stressed out about that. So I have been up thinking about that, thinking about a name, thinking about this damn garage sale I’m having! UGH! I fall asleep fine, but then when I wake up to go to the bathroom, I can’t get back to sleep because my brain starts running wild! So many things to get done and do before babe is here.

Best moment this month: THAT SHE FLIPPED! Whew. I was so nervous about having a c-section or going through the painful version to try to flip her. THANK GOODNESS. Thank you baby girl.

Worst moment this month: Now that she’s flipped, she must be weirdly on my sciatic nerve, having so many spurts of horrible pain. HATE THAT. I’d rather take that than a feet down baby though I guess!

Nursery: Ivy and baby will be sharing a room once she is sleeping through the night. Excited for that sister bond they will have :) Ivy’s room (see her room here and here) underwent some changes this week. I moved her old crib back into the room. It’s pretty cute because the crib and Ivy’s bed are both the Jenny Lind style, plus I got the same crib sheet as Ivy has twin sheet. I also painted her room! Whew, shouldn’t be doing that at 36 weeks! I decided to brighten up the gray/blue color we had on 3 of the walls to just a bright white. I used Chantilly Lace from Benjamin Moore and kept her other wall the pink it already is, which is Amaryllis from Sherwin Williams. I’ll do a full reveal once I finish the room!

To Do: Pack my hospital bag!!! Never really got around to it with Leo so I need to get serious about it this time! I’ve partnered with Rebekah Scott Designs (local SD girl!!) and her fabulous bags and I can’t wait to get mine! You can choose your own prints and everything, so I’m anxious to see how mine turned out. I got the Olive and I think it’ll be perfect for the hospital and weekend trips!

See you soon baby girl!!!

Pregnancy Woos

May 2, 2017

Pregnancy. Really can get the best of ya, can’t it. Between hormones raging, a growing to-do list with nothing getting checked off, and a baby that could be here ANY day, pregnancy is really a tough thing to battle sometimes. Ups and downs, ups and downs.

We had our 34 week appointment last week and I learned that the baby is breeched, humph. I never had this with Ivy or Leo, so I was upset knowing that a breeched baby = a possible version to turn baby = possible c-section = one possibly really unhappy mama trying to recover while caring for 3 littles. I left the appointment pretty devastated, totally knowing I was overreacting and assuming the worst, but again, those hormones, ugh, just really get the best of you. This is something I really have no control over (I’m not good at accepting that!), these babies have minds of their own! Thankful for my friends who helped me feel better! I didn’t know so many of you had breeched babies so late in your pregnancies! I know I have hope and I’m clutching very tightly onto that, while doing every weird maneuver possible to get her to turn. Just ignore me in Barre3 class if you’re ever with me! ;)

Anyways, what I’m getting at is that this stage is so bittersweet. You’re between getting to relax because you still have a good month or so (you hope!!!) till baby and are soaking in every last second of that, but you’re also the highest strung you’ve ever been with sleeping like absolute shit at nights (what’s with this restless leg syndrome business?!!?!), peeing a gazillion times during the day (four times last night, ugh), baby sitting on your sciatic nerve (OUCH), having a million things to think about and do (can’t turn my brain off at night!!!), and oh yeah, picking a name (how the hell).

While I can’t wait to meet this baby and see her with Ivy and Leo, I’m going to try to relax a little bit and just laugh at all of this chaos, because frankly, the chaos is about to get even more chaotic! This is my last pregnancy and I suppose I better enjoy every good and bad about it! For goodness sakes, we are growing a BABY, and that’s a miracle on it’s own. I need to appreciate that more! These ups and downs will come and go, but the love we have for our kids will be here forever.

So here are some cartoons that are sure to make every mama chuckle :)

Umb… yeah. CAN’T SEE ANYTHING

Basically. Thank god for kids and making them pick things up! ;)

YES! Haha

Baby #3 // 33 Weeks

April 15, 2017

33 weeks tomorrow! I am officially freaking out that this baby will be here very soon. Especially since Leo was 10 days early, I need to seriously get in gear with getting some things done with this baby stuff! Finally got out Ivy’s 0-3 month box of clothes to go through. She was October 1st and this baby is due June 4, so they’ll be a little off season, so I’m eyeing all the adorable onesies (like this one  in every color!) and rompers (this is so dang cute!) out there for summer!

Here’s a recap of my weekly photos (and hair styles, hehe) so far

20 weeks // 24 weeks // 28 weeks // 33 weeks

How far along: 33 weeks tomorrow – due date June 4
Gender: Baby Girl
Weight gain: 22 lbs (gained 5 lbs the last month)

Names: Still don’t have one picked out! We have three we like, but can’t really choose one. My husband has a for sure front runner, but I’m not sold! Maybe it’ll grow on me. Still want to use May (my middle name) as her middle name if it goes well with what we pick. Taking suggestions that go with Ivy and Leo please! Doesn’t have to be three letters :)

Last Doctor’s check-up: Yesterday! Baby’s heart rate was 155 and she was moving around a ton! Measure right at 33 weeks

Maternity clothes: Full on maternity style! Loving that it’s nicer out to wear dresses. This chambray dress is so pretty with the detail around the trim. Or this dress, love the funky orange color! This dress is cute with the bow in front! For tops, this eyelet flutter top is so pretty, love it’s long like a tunic! I’ve been wearing this cheetah print top for a little flair on a night out. The fit is great and I like that it’s fitted. Totally gonna get one of these robes for the delivery and aftermath also!

Sleep: I’ve been so busy lately! So at nights I’ve been pretty tired. Two late night girl’s nights in one week has me pretty lazy today. I’m sleeping fine, basically just zonk out. My hips hurt a couple times this week, maybe because I went running then didn’t stretch very well, whoops! But otherwise, still sleeping well, thank goodness.

Cravings: Nothing out of the ordinary – still obsessing over popsicles and shaved ice. They’re my favorite! Pregnant or not!

Best moment this month: Realizing holy shit the baby will be here soon. So anxious to add another sibling to the mix and to hold a little baby!

Worst moment this month: Realizing holy shit the baby will be here soon. ALL THE THINGS I NEED TO GET DONE.

Nursery: I’ve decided the two girls are going to share a room, and Ivy is really excited about it! We have Ivy and Leo and our bedroom upstairs and one bedroom in our basement (two-story home), so the girls are going to have to share for a few years. I’m pretty curious already about all the girl talk that is going to go on! Haha. I bought the same crib sheet that Ivy has as her twin sheet because I’m like, SO EXCITED, about the girl’s and all their matching outfits I plan on doing! So I started with a matching sheet so the room remains with the same theme. I don’t plan on changing Ivy’s room at all, just need to rearrange the furniture to make the crib fit in there. But I don’t really need to worry about any of that until baby is sleeping through the night and is out of our room. So Ivy has her freedom for a while longer! ;)

dress (non-maternity! just sized up)

Just a short while to go! Can’t wait to meet you baby girl!

Baby #3 // 20 Weeks

January 15, 2017

I am 20 weeks today! I can’t believe it’s gone by this fast and that I’m halfway there! I feel like I’ve hardly documented this pregnancy (kid three problems already), so I took my first real baby bump photo to finally snap a pic! I really popped out the last couple of weeks, so I actually have a little bump finally instead of just feeling the expanding belly push against my jeans that I can hardly button anymore!

So far this pregnancy has been just like #1 and #2 with Ivy and Leo. I’m not a very exciting pregnant person to read about because I don’t get any symptoms, good or bad! I would love for the glowing skin or shiny hair about right now :) But am SO thankful I don’t get sick. I feel like it’s odd that I’ve had three exact same pregnancies! But I don’t mind!

I did this pregnancy journal with Leo (see his posts here: birth story // maternity photos // 38 weeks confessional // 35 weeks // 30 weeks // 26 weeks // 20 weeks // gender reveal // pregnant reveal) and they were kind of fun to reflect on and see how I changed over the weeks. I decided to do it again this time for these six reasons:

1) So that I actually think about this baby (again, 3rd kid problems)
2) I want to focus some attention on this baby while trying to manage these two other rascals!
3) Two words: baby book
4) We are done after this baby! 3 and DONE. So I want to soak this in since it will be our last 😣
5) I ran every day with Ivy, did nothing with Leo, and now am doing Barre3 and running with this little girl, so I am curious how different I will look and feel
6) I got a new camera and want to use it more!

So here ya go! My pregnancy journal at 20 weeks

How far along: 20 weeks – due June 4
Gender: Girl
Weight gain: 6 pounds

Last Doctor’s check-up: January 10 // 9 weeks 2 days // We had our ultrasound and baby was moving around like crazy! We found out babe is a girl (see reveal here) and it was so cute to see her fingers up by her face. She is 11 oz (54th percentile), heart rate 144, and is growing fabulous and perfectly.

Maternity clothes: I haven’t started wearing maternity clothes yet, so close though! I can still button a few of my stretchy jeans, so I’m wearing them as long as possible! Plus, winter = leggings, YAAAAAS. For shirts, I’m into anything oversized or loose, like this plaid b&w blouse, or this oversized turtleneck sweater (love it in pink!!), or this sweater with frilled sleeves (on sale for $10!). Also cardigans are a pregnant girl’s friend! Love this long cardigan that I’ve so been wanting.

Sleep: I had a cold all week, grrrr, so I wasn’t sleeping the best, but otherwise, still comfortable at nighttime.

Best moment this month: Finding out babe is a GIRL! I didn’t realize how much I really wanted it to be a girl until we found out! I am SO excited for Ivy to have a sister, such a special bond.

Worst moment this month: Being pregnant and sick are like the two worst things – I hate taking meds period, and even more when I’m pregnant, but Sudafed was my best friend this week, sorry baby 😏

Miss anything: Alcohol. We were at the Eric Church concert last night and what I wouldn’t have given for a beer to be toasting with him while he belted out “Drink in My Hand!!”

Movement: Lots! I felt her first kicks at about week 14/15, so now I’m feeling them much more frequently and they’re getting harder. Little tyke is a mover! Love the kicks though

Cravings: Again, I’m super boring pregnant bc I don’t get any weird cravings either! All the Valentine’s Day candy is calling my name – Hello Nerds and Sweet Tarts! I don’t like chocolate #weirdoIknow

Looking forward to: VACATION! Taking the fam to San Diego soon! I can’t wait to lounge by the pool, go to the zoo, and we plan on taking the kids to Disneyland since we will only be an hour away! Otherwise, as far as this pregnancy, I want to just enjoy it all from here! We only have the master and Ivy and Leo’s bedroom upstairs and another bedroom way downstairs, so we plan on having Ivy and Leo share a room for a few months and then moving baby girl into Ivy’s room with her once she is sleeping through the night and on a good schedule. So I don’t have to worry about a nursery or really buying much since we have a ton of girl stuff! But I DO want a Wild Bird sling this time around. I used the Solly Baby wrap all the time with Leo, but want to try a sling this time around. Anyways, just going to enjoy this pregnancy and hope that it slows down some!! :)

Here are some more gender reveal pics!

Again, thank you for all of your support so far! Love my followers friends :)

Announcing Baby Number 3!

December 21, 2016

Big news!! We are pregnant with baby number three! AHHHHH! We are so excited to add one last (yes, 3 is my max!) baby to this clan. Due date is June 4th. That’s my Dad’s birthday! And June 8th is my birthday AND Leo’s birthday! Seriously, if we have ANOTHER June 8 birthday… that will be CRAAAAAZY.

I’m 16.5 weeks right now and feeling great! So weird but I’ve had the exact same pregnancy all three pregnancies so far! No nausea (THANK GOODNESS, so lucky), and really no symptoms at all. Cruising right through it! I don’t want it to go by too fast though!

I’ve been able to keep up with running and Barre3, which I started before I was pregnant and am obsessed with! They do a fabulous job at accommodating and telling me alternate exercises to do. I love it there and it’s so great having an hour to myself and getting a workout in. Plus they have childcare! Whoop!

I didn’t do ANYTHING during Leo’s pregnancy and with Ivy’s, I ran almost everyday the entire pregnancy, so I am glad I was in shape before getting pregnant so I can keep up with it all! Will hopefully bounce back fast after birth. HOPEFULLY.

Ivy is so excited! She is really understanding a baby this time around. She talks to my belly and really loves to poke my belly button which pops out like the second I’m pregnant, ugh. She wants the baby to be a girl and wants to name her “Elsie!” Which is also one of her best friend’s names! Pretty cute :)

Leo walks around saying “baby baby” which is so freaking adorable. He’s so sweet and will be such a good big brother. I can’t wait to see him with a real baby! He LOVES stuffed animals so I can already picture him being really nurturing! So cute. REALLY hard to imagine him not being the baby of the family anymore though, he’s just so sweet! He’ll always be my baby :)

No clue if it’s a boy or girl. With having the same pregnancy through Ivy and Leo and those being different genders, now this being the same pregnancy again, we have no idea!

I’ve always wanted a sister for Ivy since I grew up with two sisters close in age, however, now I would also love a brother for Leo! So we are pretty indifferent on which gender. We find out January 10th. So lucky to already have both a boy and girl! Just praying for a healthy baby!

So excited to share this news with you all! It’s going by so fast already and I’m happy to go through pregnancy one last time. I love to feel those baby kicks!

Hoping for a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby! Thanks for your support everybody!
