Happy Halloween!!! So much fun tonight as the little goblins terrorized the streets for buckets and buckets of candy! This is one of my favorite times of the year and I love all the festive costumes! Ivy decided to be a witch, Faye, a hand-me-down super cute butterfly, and Leo a Hot Wheels race car! Thankfully it was super nice out and the kids were all ready for their pre-party with friends before heading out to trick-or-treat! Continue reading
Today was a rough day! We are officially MOVED OUT of our house! We hauled our last few boxes out of the beautiful home, did a few loops and reminisced, slowly shut the door behind us, and I couldn’t even look back because of the tears in my eyes, such a bittersweet feeling.
As I was walking around the house, remembering a happy memory in each room, the hardest rooms for me to be in were the kids’ bedrooms. We brought all three of our babies home to this house. We grew into parents in this house. We have watched them grow up from babies to crawlers to walkers and to crazy spunky fun toddlers. We held them as they cried and hugged them as they were happy in this house. We saw them all take their first steps in this house. All those memories within these walls. I think what is hardest is that these kids won’t even remember this house. They’re all so young. They won’t remember me rocking them to bed as babies in their bedrooms, or teaching them how to go potty in the bathrooms, or teaching them how to ride a bike in the driveway. That’s what’s so weird. All of our memories in this house are just that, memories. Memories we will take with us as we shut that door for the last time.
Halloween is upon us! I am obsessed with everything spooky and scary and Halloweeny! Kids were excited to dress up in some costumes and go to Halloween Harvest Fest put on by YMCA Camp Leif Ericson. We’ve gone each year and it’s always a ton of fun and the kids get a lot of candy on their haunted trail!
Apples and pumpkins!!! Love this time of year when all of the apple orchards and pumpkin patches open up! This year, I wanted to bring the kids to Omaha to go to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch because we’ve never been to it yet. Plus, I haven’t ever brought them to the Omaha Zoo either, so I decided to load them up (John was out of town, EEEK!!) and make a weekend out of it!
Happy 4th of July!!! Happy Birthday America! We celebrated at Lake Madison and had a fun celebration staying up late watching fireworks, eating 28 bomb pops (red white and blue, duh!), and swimming in the lake! Such a fun holiday! The kids loved saying “Happy Birthday America!!!” every time they saw a flag :)
Here’s our 4th of July in photos!
