Weekend F U N

Ivy Blue Dress

This weekend was B U S Y with an abundant amount of photos (#sorrynotsorry)! We had both sides of family in town and had all sorts of fun! It started with the Children’s Museum in Brookings, which is extraordinary if you haven’t been there yet. Many hands-on activities to do for kids of all ages.

Museum March 26-1

Ivy absolutely loves the market – tons of food to pack in the shopping carts. She shops like her Mom – one of everything because I can’t make up my mind! ;)

There is also a terrific water area. The counters are a little high for her still, but it is mania in there! She loved it and kept throwing the balls everywhere, it was so funny. And of course it wouldn’t be a South Dakota museum without the corn fields! Ha! Ivy picked a wagon full of corn for dinner :) She also is sprucing up her construction skills – someone’s going to have to take over Daddy’s JKC!

On Saturday, Ivy had Zoo Cub class at the Great Plains Zoo. They got to paint a sheep, pet a ferret, and feed the goats and sheep at the petting zoo. She was still a little scared of the animals, but by the end she was getting up close and personal!

We cruised around the neighborhood in the wagon and on her Ybike afterwards and enjoyed the nice weather. Our neighbors have their Easter bunny and eggs set up and Ivy loves to visit it! This time she finally got close to it and gave it a hug! She had been a little eerie of the “Easter bunny,” so we are getting better! Just in time for Easter :) Isn’t that bunny the best?!

Weekend March 28-6 Weekend March 28-7 Weekend March 28-8

Saturday night, we celebrated my nephew Jackson’s 12th birthday with my family. Then my niece Tya had a volleyball tournament all day on Sunday so Ivy got to see a lot of her cousins!

Also on Sunday, John’s side of the family had arrived with nieces Anna and Nora. They’re 5 and 6 1/2 and were SO excited to see Ivy! They played dress up… ADORABLE! So girly!

By the end of the night, EVERYONE was tired! Time for pjs and Curious George… ahhhhhh.

Weekend March 28-33

Whew! And that was our weekend! Monday Ivy goes to Grandma Emmie’s while we go to work so she will be very excited to play with Anna and Nora again, and they will love it! Always fun to see cousins :)

On a personal note, I’m happy to say that my goal of actually trying to look good during this pregnancy is going well (see post here). I’ve curled my hair two weekends in a row and this weekend I went for the straight look (like straight back to Britney in my high school days). I got some new black maternity slim fit jeans (slim fit during pregnancy? riiiiiight…) last weekend from H & M and bought a new cardigan from Chic Nova, so I assembled my best maternity outfit I could and I was pretty happy with myself! It’s never easy dressing a baby bump! And the best thing about doing my hair, is now I don’t have to do it again for several days :) Apparently my hair doesn’t get greasy when I don’t work out :| (blah #winningbutnotwinning)
