Baptism

December 28, 2013

Baptism: symbolizing purification or regeneration and admission to the Christian Church. This is a special day for Ivy. Her godparents, my sister Jillian and her husband Brian, are here to celebrate her baptism. They got her the SWEETEST little Swarovski pearl baptism bracelet. Then Grandma Betsy had a vintage christening gown with a matching bonnet. I can’t even. I mean, she looked like Prince George in his christening gown, like real vintage. So cool. We celebrated with family and friends! Anna and Nora Sweeney, her cousins were in town for the special day too!

A Koch Christmas

December 25, 2013

What I love about the Koch’s are the traditions they hold. They always do a “come in your pajamas breakfast” with their best friends The Hayes. Betsy always buys us new pajama pants for our Christmas present, so it’s fun to show up in pjs, especially on Christmas morning.

A Keating Christmas

December 25, 2013

Meet my family. My sister Jillian and her husband Brian are in town from Indianapolis to celebrate Christmas with us. And my Dad, Bill, is on a 2 week vacation from his job in Afghanistan. This was all of their first time meeting Ivy! My poor sister had booked a flight to come meet Ivy over my due date, September 29th, after my doctor had assured me I would have the baby early, buuuut that didn’t exactly happen. Ivy was 2 days late, and Jillian had flown back to Indy the day before. It was VERY sad when I was already super emotional. But now! They’re all here to meet Ivy. SOOOOOO exciting! I couldn’t WAIT to share her with my family.

Becca’s Memorial

December 23, 2013

Friends and family of the Koch’s got together to honor Becca, John’s sister, who passed away of cancer February 17, 2013. Julie Mickelburg created a memorial for Becca on a bridge at the Butterfly House. Tons of friends and family made the trip to the ceremony. Ivy is named after Becca, Ivy Rebecca Koch. So this was pretty special. We sent Becca ultrasound pictures telling her we were pregnant 10 days before she passed away, the same day she got told the cancer is back and aggressive. We hope that lifted your spirits a little bit! Becca was bummed she didn’t get to meet Ivy and see her brother with his child, but we know you’re watching us in heaven. We miss you. We love you.

A Weasel Christmas

December 19, 2013

Weasel Christmas? What? Well, meet THE WEASELS. These 9 girls are my best friends from high school, Rough Riiiiiders. Now almost all of us have kids and babies! Some even have 2! So we decided on a Weasel Christmas to do a gift exchange with the babies. HILARIOUS. Ivy was the smallest and Megan’s little girl Rilynn, who shares the same bday with Ivy, October 1, just LOVED on her. It was hysterical. Then all the other little ones joined in. Too cute.
